In Memoriam: Dieter Hagen (2025)

Hagen Group marks the passing of Dieter Hagen, Vice Chairman of the Board and one of the company’s founders. 

Dieter Hagen played a significant role in the growth and long-term stewardship of Hagen Group for more than six decades. After joining his brother Rolf in Montreal in 1959, he helped build the company from its early beginnings into a global organization serving pet owners around the world. 

Known for his long-term perspective and principled leadership, Dieter believed strongly in trust, integrity, and building the business on “solid ground, not making sandcastles.” He remained engaged in the company well into his later years and took a genuine interest in both the business and its people. 

Hagen Group extends its sincere condolences to the Hagen family and honours Dieter Hagen’s enduring legacy.
